🎉 Max's First Birthday Bash! A Playful Cake Smash in Our Natural Light Studio

I can’t even tell you how much I LOVE when families come back to me year after year — it’s like a little reunion with old friends, and I’m the lucky one who gets to freeze time for them!!! Jordan first came to me when she was just days away from meeting Max. We did the dreamiest maternity session, and then not long after, baby Max was in my arms for his newborn session!! And now??? He’s a WHOLE YEAR OLD. 😭😭😭

This cake smash session at my natural light studio in Corona, CA was SO much fun!! Max came in looking like a soft little prince, and while he was a tiny bit serious at first (honestly, same 😅), it didn’t take long for him to warm up. And once he did?! We were off to the races. 🏁

I had this vision in my head: red-and-white striped backdrop, a little pop of color while still keeping everything cozy, simple, and sweet. I wanted to mix clean neutrals with just a sprinkle of celebration and vintage flair. And Jordan totally trusted me with the styling — she showed up in the PERFECT soft yellow dress, and the whole thing came together like it was meant to be!!

Max gave us the cutest little details — toe grabs, finger pokes, slow-motion frosting scoops (lol), cake sliding, and the classic “why is this hat on my head” look. 😆 We had twirls, snuggles, giggles, and even a few full-family moments that just melted my heart. Dad was totally in it too, and I swear you can FEEL the joy in these photos.
