Tiny Toes + High Tides | Baby Koa's Laguna Beach Session
Okay but I LOVE when the ocean throws a little curveball at me!!! π π When I met Kristen, her boyfriend Michael, and their brand new baby boy Koa down at Rockpile in Laguna Beach, the tide was so high we had barely a sliver of sand to work with β and guess what? I LOVED IT!!!
It turned into the most dreamy, snuggly, rock-hugging, tide-dodging, creativity-fueled session ever!! Sometimes the best photos come when you just lean allllll the way in. And thatβs exactly what we did. β¨
Kristen is actually a photographer herself (and sometimes even second-shoots for me π₯Ή), so it was extra special to finally meet her in person, and to meet sweet baby Koa β her very first tiny love. They named him Michael III, but they call him Koa, and it fits him so perfectly. He was so peaceful, so cozy, so completely chill β like he was born for this beach life. Total surfer baby vibes. πββοΈπ
We stayed close to the rocks, wrapped up in the wind, and honestly? The textures were STUNNING. Smooth ocean, jagged cliff edges, cozy swaddles, bare feet, warm skin β and Kristen in her natural element: motherhood. She even nursed as we walked (incredible!!) and just radiated gentleness the entire time. Michael was the sweetest, calmest dad, full of love and support β you could just feel how much joy they have in this new little family of three.
These are the kind of sessions that make me stop and feel everything. The salt air, the crashing waves, the weight of a sleepy baby on your chest... itβs what photography is all about for me. Real emotion. Soft tones. Natural posing. Joy without performance. Fine art meets real life β and it's magic. β¨
